Who is behind Pentasweet?

How it all started

Oficially, Pentasweet was started in 2022; however, there is a story before that.

The idea behind bringing sweet protein brazzein to the market was born in the heads of two scientists and co-founders Danas Tvarijonavičius – PhD in biochemistry and medicine, and Chairman of the Board – and Saulė Sūdžiuvienė – Chief Scientific Officer or, as we call her here at Pentasweet, „our mother of science”.

Together they bring more than 30 years of combined experience in biotechnology. Danas – deep knowledge of food industry and manufacturing processes and Saulė – enormous experience with fermentation projects within the pharmaceutical industry.

And this is exactly the combination of very specific knowledge and experience that was needed in the industry to develop sweet protein brazzein at such high scale, efficiency and purity.
